Microsoft Outlook Setup(9x,NT,2000,XP)

  1. If you are using a router you may have to reconfigure it to allow the connection.
  2. Please Note WindowsXP has a firewall. This may prevent you from making a network connection.
  3. If you have an AntiVirus program, that may also prevent you from making a connection to our servers. Please read your instructions from the AntiVirus program how to allow this connection to happen.
  4. Open Outlook
  5. From the menu choose Tools- > Accounts
  6. A window should popup that has you internet accounts listed. We need to create an additional one.
  7. Click on the Add and Choose Mail
  8. Display Name window: You can choose whatever you like. Or enter firebricksky and click Next
  9. Internet E-Mail address window: Use the email that was assigned to you. eg. you@yourcompany.com and click on Next.
  10. E-Mail server window:
    1. Incoming Mail server Type: POP3
    2. Incoming Mail server name:please type in smtp.firebricksky.net
    3. Outgoing Mail server name:please type in smtp.firebricksky.net
    Click on Next
  11. Internet Mail Login window:
    1. Account Name: use your webmail username
    2. Password: use your webmail password
    Make sure the Remember Password box has a check and Click on Next
  12. Congratulations window: Click on Finish.
  13. You need to now edit the account. Once you press finish the new account should be list in the Internet Accounts windows.
  14. Select the new account you just created (firebricksky) click on the Properties button
  15. A new window should popup that lists all the properties of this account (firebricksky) Choose the Servers tab at the top of the window.
    1. Check the My Server requires authentication box
    2. Press the Settings button.
    3. Make sure that the Use Same settings as my incoming mail server is selected
    4. Click on the OK button.
  16. Choose the Advanced tab at the top of the window. We want to edit the Server Port Numbers
    1. Outgoing mail (SMTP): 465
    2. Select the This server requires a secure connection (SSL) check box
    3. Incoming mail (POP3): 995
    4. Select the This server requires a secure connection (SSL) check box
    5. Press the Apply button.
    6. Press the OK button.
  17. Press the Close button in the Internet Accounts window
  18. Done.

* Please Note, you may also need to reconfigure your firewall or DSL/Cable Router to allow the secure connections
