Eudora (5.1,5.2)

  1. Open Eudora
  2. Right Click in the personalities frame, when the menu appears, click "new".
  3. A window will popup and Select "Create a brand new email account", click next.
  4. In the Personality Name enter FireBrickSky, Click on Next
  5. Enter your Name. Lcick Next
  6. Enter your email address to be shown (eg yourname@yourcompany.com), click next.
  7. Enter your FireBrickSky login name. Click next.
  8. Incoming server is: smtp.firebricksky.net, select "pop" (default) click next.
  9. Outgoing server is: smtp.firebricksky.net, make sure allow authentication is selected, click next.
  10. Click "finish"
  11. A popup window will ask you for your password. Enter your password and click OK.
  12. Next we have to setup the secure portion of the connection
  13. Right click on the newly created account and click properties.
  14. At the bottom of the window where it reads "secure sockets when sending" pull-down box, select "Required,Alternate Port".
  15. Select the "incoming mail" tab at the top.
  16. At the bottom of the window where it reads "secure sockets when sending" pull-down box, select "Required,Alternate Port".
  17. Click OK
  18. Eudora will now try to make a connection to the server. When it times out it you need to add the new certificate. Here are the steps.
  19. Click "personalities" tab again.
  20. Right click the newly created FireBrickSky account.
  21. Click the Incoming Mail tab at the top of the popup window
  22. Click "Last SSL Info" button at the bottom of the popup window
  23. Click "Certificate Information Manager" button at the bottom of the window
  24. Click on the certificate line in the top portion of the window that has a line smtp.firebricksky.net
  25. Click "Add to Trusted", Click "Done", Click "ok"
  26. Click Ok.
